Thanks, Transport Direct

We were very sad to hear that TransportDirect is closing down at the end of September. This excellent website has been an integral part of Car Free Walks since we started, enabling users to find transport to the start of their walk. All this was provided free of charge, which may have been part of its downfall - anything that doesn't pay its way soon finds itself under threat from those prone to short-sightedness, no matter how useful people find it.

We have been looking for alternative online services that will enable you to find transport to your chosen walk - and recently, Google has started offerering a very useful service. As public transport is an integral part of Car Free Walks, we are now using Google's service.

We would like to wish all at Transport Direct the best and thank them for their support over these past few years. Car Free Walks would have not been the same without you.
