Princess Bride Locations Again

Footsteps of The Princess Bride. Just noticed you have 'Man in Black confronts Buttercup' as taking place at Higger Tor. Wikipedia also gets this wrong. The confrontation was at Carl Wark at SK259814. See Graham Hogg's photo at the http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3261818 webpage. Higger Tor is visible in the background though.

Princess Bride Locations

I'm not too sure about the location you have given in Lathkill Dale in grid square SK2165. I think SK1765 is where the 'Battle of Wits with Vizzini' took place, somewhere near SK173653 where Cale Dale and Lathkill Dale meet. I photographed some of the area a couple of years ago, but not the exact location shown in the film. The distance between contour lines in SK2165 don't give the impression of the scale of the valley where the scene takes place. Have a look at the film then have a look at the geograph pages for the two grid squares as seen on the http://www.geograph.org.uk/gridref/SK2165 and http://www.geograph.org.uk/gridref/SK1765 web pages and note the limestone buttresses in SK1765. I am sure the location where the 'Man in Black Fights Fezzik' is at Robin Hood's stride. See the http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2928700 and http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2928714 webpages.
