Head along Westbourne Park Road and Portobello Road is on the right. This world famous street is home to antiques shops, boutique stalls, fruit and everything else in between. There's some fantastic (if pricey) food stalls. The market is open every day except Sunday and in full swing on Saturdays.

Follow Portobello Road right to the end, then its a short walk to Notting Hill Gate. From here, head along Bayswater Road to the northwest corner of Hyde Park.

It's 'pick your own route' time. There is plenty to see in the 350 acres of Hyde Park - the Serpentine Lake, the ill-fated Diana Memorial fountain, the bird sanctuary and plenty of walking routes. Head towards Hyde Park Corner on the opposite corner.

From Hyde Park Corner, it's a short hop across Park Lane (take note, Monopoly fans) to Buckingham Palace, sitting in front of Green Park and St James' Park. Make sure you get a photo of the Guards in front of the palace.

You are right in the heart of Royal London here, and the tourist shops won't let you forget it. Soak up the atmosphere by walking along The Mall, past Clarence House (where the Queen Mum lived) and oh look, another world famous landmark - Trafalgar Square!

From Trafalgar, head along Whitehall and the impressive Houses of Parliament come into view (and yes I know Big Ben is the bell, not the tower). After a long day's walking, it's probably time for a drink and a look through the photos - there are loads of pubs to choose from in the area.
