The Old Man of Coniston |

| The many bus services in the Lake District mean that most of the fells are accessible without a car, including this old favourite, the Coniston Old Man, which dominates the skyline of the Southern Lake District. This route starts in nearby Torver, to the southwest of Coniston. Not all buses stop here, but you can extend the walk to start here with a pleasant two-hour stroll from Coniston village along the shore of Coniston Water. | ||
