Waypoints
Start of the walk. Walk over rail bridge, exit the station and walk down hill. Turn left, turn up the next road on the right and then left into the car park.
Walk to the top left hand corner of the car park. Keep walking along this path moving from traditional dog walking territory to less used parts of the wood. Walk on the same path for about 1km. When the path emerges onto a field turn right.
Turn left at the farm and walk down a stony track. Take the bridleway on your left after a downhill slope. The bridleway is bounded by hedges on both sides. Follow it down under a railway bridge and take the next bridleway on the left taking you into Chiphouse Woods.
Take the path right the way through the woods for about 1km. When you emerge onto the road you can EITHER carry straight on heading back towards the station OR take the bridleway on the other side of the road to add another 45mins/hour to the walk. If you take the bridleway head uphill into woods.
Follow the bridleway until it merges with Eyehurst Park. Take the footpath heading east through The Long Plantation. Where the path meets the road heading up White Hill, take the path bearing left that hugs the contours.
The path skirts the top of Poorfield Wood before crossing Castle Road. Stay on the path into Chipstead.
The path meets Hazelwood Lane in Chipstead. Follow this for 400m, then take a short footpath heading east that joins Walpole Avenue.
The bridleway at the end of the road will return you to Chipstead Station.
