The Arrochar Alps provide lots of great walks, all just an hour and a half from Glasgow by train. This is a big walk, summiting three Munros - you can break it up with a wild camp half way around. From Succoth, the route heads over Beinn Narnain, across to Beinn Ime and finally up the rough ground of Ben Vane. The route home follows Loin Water out to beautiful Loch Long.

Descend from the summit to the bealach between Beinn Narnain and Beinn Ime. For an easier day, you can descend back to Succoth from here via Coire a' Bhalachain. Otherwise continue up the broad southern flank of Beinn Ime.

Despite being the lowest of the three, the climb up Ben Vane is likely to be the most taxing. It's about 450m of ascent from the bealach, over uneven ground. So maybe time to crack out the flapjack...
