A three-day Lake District walk
A linear, multi-day mountain (above 600m) walk in UK starting at Eskdale, Cumbria, about 38km (roughly 24 miles) long and
unsuitable for families with children, prams/pushchairs, wheelchairs.

A three-day Lake District walk covering a wide area. This walk takes approximately three days, using two National Trust campsites (open all year round). The fisrt and last day are short walks, with a slightly longer day in the middle.
Start by catching a train to Ravensglass (unless you live in Ravenglass of course), then take the Ravenglass-Eskdale railway to the start of the walk. On the last day catch a bus back to Windermere for train connections.

Waypoints
Depart the narrow gauge railway at Eskdale Green Station and turn left at the main road.
After the Outward Bound Centre, turn right
Continue straight over the road into the forest. Take the path heading upwards.
After leaving the forest, take a path heading right up onto the ridge.
Start taking in the lovely views at Whin Rigg.
After reading the summit head down towards Sca Fell.
When the path meets the Coffin Track from Boot, turn left.
The end of day one! Set up and camp!
Head back up the Coffin Track towards Boot.
The path here can be hard to find so watch out for a stile at the top of the field and head towards it. Once through the field, head straight up the slope following a rough path. Keep to this path heading up towards Sca Fell summit.
At Sca Fell summit take the path heading north and then around to the right. Follow the path down the steep incline.
On reaching a path T junction, head up the slope.
On reaching the ridge, head right up to Scafell Pike.
From Scafell Pike head along the main path towards Broad Crag then on towards Great End.
From Great End retrace your steps then head along the path to Esk Hause.
From Esk Hause head to Esk Pike.
Head from here along the easy to follow path to Bow Fell
Just before reaching the three small tarns, head on the path down to Stool End.
For a longer walk continue on the horseshoe to Crinkle Crags and Long Top.
Head straight through the farm yard.
Camp at the campsite!
Head along the main road to the right.
Head through the car park and up Dungeon Ghyll.
At Stickle Tarn head around to the left and continue straight up the steep slope to Harrison Stickle.
Head from here to Pike of Stickle
Head back towards Harrison Stickle. Just before reaching Harrison Stickle, turn left and head towards High Raise.
From High Raise head towards Sergeant Man and then down Blea Rigg.
After descending from Raw Pike head down beside Blindtarn Gill to Easedale.
Head along Easedale to Grasmere.
At Grasmere catch a bus (number 555) to Windermere.





This walk must count as an all-time Lakes classic! Anyone camping at Wasdale Head should visit the pub there for a pint. A midnight swim in Wast Water is also an unforgettable experience.
