This is a long circular walk from Kingham Station, through Foxholes Nature Reserve, past Bruern Abbey, up onto the ridge at Idbury and Nether Westcote with views down to Bledington. This is one of a series of walks from the Cotswolds Conservation Board designed to allow people to make their way to the startpoint using public transport. From the station turn right down the road and cross the River Evenlode by one of Bledingtons’s doomsday mills to a T junction. Turn left then left again off the lane to a gate. Turn right onto the ‘Oxfordshire Way’. Follow the field edge ahead.

On reaching the open field turn left then right to follow the drainage ditch to a footbridge. Turn left immediately and follow the path through Cocksmoor Copse. Where the path leaves the wood continue straight along the edge of the field to a gate in a stone wall leading to a lane.

Turn right up the lane for 500 metres until it bends to the left. Turn right through a gate and walk across the field to a hedge. Turn left and follow the edge of the field to a farm track. Turn right and immediately left. Continue passing through a gate by a cattle grid, and down a slope to a second gate. Here turn left then immediately right and follow the track for 30 metres. Bear right at the trees following the track around the plantation.

Turn left and follow the track around to the right. At a path junction at the corner of the wood take the bridleway right across the field to the gap in the hedge. Continue ahead across two fields and along the edge of two more. Turn right through a metal gate, cross a small field to gate and follow the track to Idbury.

Turn left pass the church and take the lane ahead to Nether Wescote. Turn right down a narrow lane by Peach Tree Cottage. Where this lane turns to the left continue down hill on a bridleway to a stile on the left by a gate.

Cross into field, turn right and continue down the edge of the field parallel to the bridleway. Notice the ridge and furrow field patterns. Continue along edge of 4 fields crossing stiles until the path rejoins the bridleway at a large gap in the hedge. Turn left for 50 metres then cross a stile on the right. Follow the path to a gate. Cross the paddock to a stile and the next field to a footbridge.
