This walk in the Chilterns is a great place for spotting Red Kites. It's a short hop from the capital, but you will soon be fully immersed in the countryside of the Home Counties. Start the walk here. Head NE out of the station (you can cut through the car park)

Take a path uphill on the left over a cattle grid.

Turn left onto the road and walk through the village; at the village green turn right up Tom's Hill Road

About 50 metres up Tom's Hill Road, take a track leading left up the hill toward the monument and the National Trust estate.

The path takes you past some stables and out onto a road. Go straight across the road and follow another path through a small, dense wood. The path comes out of the wood and onto the golf course. Hug the edge of the golf course.
