Snowdonia is famous for its craggy peaks and hills, and rightly so. But there are lots of low-level walks to enjoy in the region, including this enjoyable hike from Capel Curig to Llyn Crafnant, finishing in Llanrwst. It's a good option if clouds are smothering the summits, or if you just want to get away from the crowds.

Past the small mound of Crimpiau, the path splits again. Take the route heading into the valley, rather than heading uphill. It's possible to walk to the summit of Crimpiau as well - there is a rough, rocky path up the northern end of the hill, on the eastern side.

At the end of the lake, take the footpath heading through the disused quarry. The paths can be a little tricky to follow around here - they don't appear to be used too much, so are not always clear. A map and compass are essential!

Head into town for the Snowdon Sherpa bus if you are heading back towards Capel Curig, or trains running to Llandudno or Betws-y-Coed. There are also plenty of shops, cafes and pubs in this sizable town.
