Chester is a picturesque city, and the locals say the best way to see it is from the city wall that circles it. It's one of the best preserved walls in Britain, and the two-mile circuit along the top makes for a great afternoon. You don't need an OS map; instead pick up a walking guide from the Tourist Information Centre.
