The Radnor Forest, just inside the Welsh border contains some wonderful walking territory. The tightly packed contours of the many hills mean it is no lazy ramble either - your legs will certainly get a work out. New Radnor, a small village south of the forest, is a good place from which to explore the hills of the forest. Note - you will also need OS map 200 for the first bit of the walk out of New Radnor.

As you cross over the open access land to Black Mixen, the real treat of the day comes into view - the view along the length of Harley Dingle. Sadly it's part of the Radnor Range, so not possible to go wandering aimlessly, but the views from the top take some beating.

Pub Closed

Thanks Nigel, that's sad news. I guess the nearest pub now is the Harp Inn in Old Radnor, about 3.5km away.

Hi This walk from New Radnor is one of our favourites. Could you add Railway Cottage to your list of accommodation as we are a great base for walkers in this area. Many thanks Libby
