Princetown is the perfect place from which to explore the middle reaches of Dartmoor. This walk gives you a taste of the moor's working history, passing old tin mines and following, for a section, the Devenport Leat. Leats are aqueducts dug to provide water, often for mining. This one was built in the 1790s to carry drinking water from the moor to the docks at Devonport.
