The villages of the Cotswolds are beloved of coach parties and rich types, but the walking is great too. This route links three of the better known villages, Bournton-on-the-Water and Upper and Lower Slaughter. Easy to reach by bus and you will also avoid the four hours trying to find a parking spot. The route also follows two rivers, the Eye and the Windrush, which always makes for a nice walk.

It's a touristy place, so plenty to see and do if you are staying for a short while: www.bourtoninfo.com There, a whole description of a Cotswolds walk without using the word 'honeycomb' for the buildings. Must be a first.
