We're delighted to feature in the 2011 Guardian Green Travel List.
This annual list is a guide to 25 travel and tourism initiatives worldwide that have shown evidence of commitment to community, place and the environment. The organisers received hundreds of nominations - from readers of the Guardian and via twitter and the greentraveller facebook page - including fantastic initiatives from all over the world, which the judges whittled down to a final list of the 25 best.
www.carfreewalks.org was selected under the Visitor Attractions category, along with a solar-powered music festival in Wales, a museum topped with a living roof, and the "world's first farm in a shop". It's fantastic to see this project recognised by such a respected organisation, and we are very proud of our achievement!

The Green Travel List was published in the travel section of the Guardian newspaper, Saturday 4 November: The Guardian Green Travel List 2011.
