A short steep climb to the top of a pass, with a longer, easier downhill walk to finsh. Allow an extra hour or two if you want to visit Pensychnant conservation centre and nature reserve: www.pensychnant.co.uk. The house is open Wed-Sun, April-end Sept, 11-5, and the nature reserve is open Wed-Sun, 9-6 (or dusk), all year (except Christmas & New Year). Enjoy great views over Anglesey and Conway valley.

Turn left uphill. Take no notice of wayposts for the North Wales Coast Path where it crosses the road, but head straight on to the top of the pass, then downhill on the road between stone walls to find a sign for Pensychnant conservation centre and nature reserve – worth a visit.
