This walk in the Scottish Borders explores the moorland north of Lauder, with a route that encompasses Heugh Hill and the ancient hill fort of Dabshead Hill (I'm not sure you get modern hill forts, actually). There are regular buses between Edinburgh and Jedburgh, making it an easy day walk from the capital. Suitable for families although there is one busy road to cross.
