Just north of Glasgow, the Campsie Fells make an excellent day trip from the city. A steep-sided escarpment leads up to a fairly wild plateau, which offers many good walks. This route from Lennoxtown visits the two summits north of the town, and passes through the village of Clachan of Campsie on the way back. Regular buses to and from Glasgow.
