I thought it was about time I showed you why I have liked living, for most of my life, in Colwyn Bay - where this walk starts. I used to work in Llandudno and at various locations along the North Wales coast. Colwyn Bay is central on North Wales coast, and as you can see from my walks on this site, I can go east to the English border, west to Anglesey and Caernarfon, and south down the Conway Valley into Snowdonia. The area has good transport links: Arriva bus routes 5 (Llandudno-Caernarfon), 11 (Rhyl-Chester) and, for this linear walk, 12 (Llandudno-Rhyl). These are the main services with connecting routes into Anglesey, Snowdonia, the Conway Valley, Mold and Wrexham. There are also other local operators which I can use.
Colwyn Bay is also on the main London-Holyhead-London railway, with branches into Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff, etc.
