This walk gives a taste of the varied scenery of rural Surrey, starting in the village of Ewhurst and taking in Pitch Hill, one of the hills of the sandstone ridge.

Go past the tudor house (site also of a Roman Villa), with the sleeping lion statues keeping watch over the entrance gates. From here the path starts to go more steepily uphill and the ground underneath becomes sandstone.

Take care crossing the road here. Turn right and then almost immediately left on the smaller lane.
