Another one for the families out there, with a castle (the only one in North Wales with a water-filled moat, because it is built on lowland), a restored magistrates' court with audio-visual guides, a jail (reduced admission if you buy tickets to both magistrates' court and jail), a pier, and boat rides up the Menai Straight and around Puffin Island, with views of Snowdonia. Beaumaris means 'beautiful marsh'.
