Waypoints
From the station, head under the bridge to pick up the footpath alongside the railway line. Cross the river and keep along the path.
The path passes through fields to reach the hamlet of Penstone. Pass under the railway bridge and over the two tracks towards Colebrook.
St Andrew's church in Colebrooke is a lovely spot from which to admire the scenery of mid-Devon. From the churchyard, pass through the gate onto Drunkards' Lane, which recrosses the old South Devon railway.
Follow the lane to Coleford, a fine Devon village. Just over the railway bridge is the New Inn, a 13th century drinking spot.
Continue along the lane past Coplestone House and on into Copplestone.
Finish the walk in Copplestone, which has another good pub - the wonderfully named Devonshire Dumpling on Morchard Road - and a village shop. The station is a few hundred metres north of the village centre.
