A leisurely walk (countryside) in Kent, England, about 8.60km (5.34 mi) long with an estimated walking time of about 2:45h. It is suitable for families with children, but unsuitable for prams & pushchairs, wheelchairs.
This is one of many great walks that provide city-worn Londoners with a day in the countryside. From Westerham, accessible by bus from the capital, you can wander through parkland and woodland along the North Downs. The route passes near Chartwell, which is well worth a visit: www.nationaltrust.org.uk/chartwell
While the obvious route from Chartwell heads to Toy's Hill, the roads here are a bit dangerous for walking (lots of woodland, fast cars etc.). Instead, return to the common to take the woodland path back towards Westerham.
