This is one of many great walks that provide city-worn Londoners with a day in the countryside. From Westerham, accessible by bus from the capital, you can wander through parkland and woodland along the North Downs. The route passes near Chartwell, which is well worth a visit: www.nationaltrust.org.uk/chartwell
