A simple walk along canal towpath and old railway line between Huddersfield & Dewsbury. A good walk for when the fields are full of 'mush' but you might have to 'puddle dance' a bit.
From Huddersfield town centre follow the directions towards the University to reach the start point.
Walk is approx 10 miles, might be pram OK but riverbank sections just a bit too tight for my liking.

The route starts at Aspley Wharf marina which is on the A629 Wakefield Road 1/2 mile SE of the bus & rail stations. From the marina take the towpath heading north along the Huddersfield Broad Canal.

Follow the towpath for 3 miles and at Bridge 5 (wayposted) cross the canal to take the Calder Valley Greenway as it rises left uphill. At a T-junction turn left to pass over the disused aqueduct.

Continue ahead under the road bridge, up a slight incline and follow the tarmac path to reach Bog Green Lane. Cross the road onto tarmac path through the woodland.

At the marina exit the canal towpath onto the road and turn right briefly. Take a route on the left through the Ship Inn car park to reach the river bank. Follow the riverside path for 1/3 mile.

Enjoyed this walk, it was very wet today but as it was on mostly cycle routes I kept my feet dry.
