A walk full of historical associations and wacky architecture, including a hospital mortuary converted to a theatre and a house where a seafarer fired a canon from the roof. This is one of the few London villages to have retained its winding lanes. After exploring them you can visit Kenwood House, which is accessed via the Heath, in itself a delightful stroll.
