Head North out of the station. Cross the A259 and follow the waymarker in hedge opposite. Follow the path to cross an unusual, log stile over a wall. Take diagonal path across field, pass through gate turning right and uphill to the village of Bishopstone.

Just after the car park turn right up a track. At fork in path continue uphill to the right. Turn left at waymarker and walk between hedges. Cross stile and along side of valley passing a farm below on your left.

Walk through the kissing gate. Follow the waymarker along side of field keeping the hedge on your right. Walk through gap in hedge and turn left to continue uphill along the track. Turn left at waymarker and walk along bridleway.

Admire views here! Cross the South Downs Way and jump a stile just down the hill following the path down. Almost at the bottom of the hill, cross a stile and follow path down between hedges and then by the side of a field. At end of field turn right along track then turn left at bench into Alciston.

Follow the road into Alciston. Lunch at The Rose Cottage Inn. Continue through Alciston to find well-hidden path between two houses on the right. Cross the stile and turn left down the side of the field to cross another stile and plank across ditch. WARNING! Be REALLY careful crossing the A27.

If you made it across the A27 in one piece, cross another stile in gap in hedge. Cross a small field then another stile. Cut across a large field then through a gap in the hedge to the left of a hedge. At top of field, find waymarker in gap in hedge and cross the road.
