This is a nice Sunday walk, enabling you to build up a good appetite for a slice of cake and hot beverage in one of the lovely tea shops that Alfriston has to offer. We tackled it with a seven year old, a 4 year old and an 8 month old in an all-terrain buggy.

Thanks for spotting the error Elizabeth. This seems to have been a problem caused because this walk was added to the previous version of the Car Free Walks website and the coordinates must have thrown a wobbly in the changeover. If anyone has done this walk recently please feel free to comment on the conditions of the walk no as I walked this with a group of friends and their kids a while ago and the paths and gates may have changed a bit since.

Oops, something has gone wrong with the waypoints there. Sorry about that and thanks for letting us know - we will fix it asap.

The map segments and the route on the big map bears absolutely no relation to the walk. The walk is around Alfriston it the map shows a straight line going north from Bishopstone. A quick look at point 1 on the map (in the middle of a railway track) will soon show you something is amiss. That and the way the mapped route is a perfectly straight line and perfectly due north.

We even spotted the actor who plays Mr. Weasley in the Harry Potter movies! What a lovely part of the world.
