These two hills in southern Snowdonia may seem modest, but are one of the most challenging trips in the National Park. Despite relatively modest heights (720m and 712m respectively), the terrain - rough heathery ground and screes - makes them an arduous trip, and although there are paths, they are easily lost in bad weather - no concrete paths a la Snowdon round here. This approach, from Llanbedr on the Welsh coast, makes for a long walk in, but the scenery is superb all the way, starting in forest and by rivers before the bleaker higher ground. Either way, come prepared and enjoy!
Note - it is hard to do the whole walk in between trains. Better to plan for an overnight stay in Llanbedr and enjoy a coastal walk the next day.
