Rhosneigr is a peaceful family resort with 2 quiet beaches (ignore the RAF planes from the nearby valley where Prince William is based), Llyn Maelog the natural lake which used to be tidal until sand separated it from the sea. Now fringed with reeds it is a haven for birds - in summer ornithologists can spot little grebe, great crested grebe, tufted duck, ruddy duck, pochard, shelduck, graylag goose and swans, the reedbeds attract sedge warbler, whitethroat and reed bunting. If you're so inclined, you'll a plethora of plants to look for include white water-lillies, water milfoil and the tall pink flowering rush. Water forget-me-not and yellow loosestrife grow in damp places near the lake.    Â
