Since my dad moved to rural Suffolk I have got to know the joys of walking through open countryside. This route follows one of the many bus routes into the countryside from Ipswich, and roughly hugs the route of the bus, meaning longer or shorter walks are an option. Buses go about every two hours except for Sundays. Several pubs along the way, but check opening times to avoid disappointment.
